It was not a happy ending.  At the same time, Rachel went to the charity auction with Phoebe and Joey. Joey bought a boat accidentally. However, he didn't have enough money to pay for it. The most important part in this episode is that Chandler proposed to Monica. Things was not going like he expeced. They met Monica's ex-boyfriend in the restaurant. His plan was ruined, and he thought of a new one. He pretended that he didn't want to get married in his life. Monica was angry and ran away. However, they engaged in the end.   B. I like all of them, but I like Phoebe the most. She is funny. Whenever her friends are in trouble, she tries to help them, although she messed up all the time. If I have a friend like her, I will have a lot of fun in life.   C. She grew up in a big family and was born in China at a time of great change and trouble. The book has mentioned a lot of traditional customs in China. They are nearly impossible to appear in modern society, for example, the author's grandmother never saw her husband untill wedding day. Women also had to bind their feet at that time. That was a symbol of obedience. I also learned a interesting word "concubine" . Her mother died after two weeks she was born, so her brothers and sisters treated her unkindly. Soon, her father married a new mother for them. She was a person of mixed blood. At the beginning of the book, all the members of their family were standind in a row, because her father was dead. Her stepmother told them that their father left no money for them. She started to tell the story of her family, and didn't say what happened. I am looking forward to finish the book. 呂佩穎PONY

Most of them are popular, such as The Ant and Grasshopper, Thumbelina and Ali Baba. There is an interesting one that I have never heard of-The Twelve Dancing Princesses.   Long ago, there lived a king who had twelve beautiful daughters. They lived in the same room with twelve beds in a row. Every morning, the king found them tired and all of their dancing slippers were worn to shreds. When he asked them to explain, they just said " We have been sleeping in our beds peacefully all night. " Therefore, the king issued a proclamation says that the first man to find out the mystery can marry one of his daughters. Many princes came to try their luck. However, they were all given a glass of wine by the eldest princess and fell asleep. No one figured out what happened.   One day, a soldier helped an old woman in the forest. In return, she told him the secret of the wine and gave him a cloak which will make him invisible. He listened to her. At night, he followed the princesses and found out the mystery. All the princesses went to dance acroos the lake. In the end, he married the eldest princess and they lived happily forever.   This book is very interesting. It reminds me of my childhood. I read the stories in Chinese when I was little and now I read them again in English. Although it is for children, there are still some words I don't konw. Black Beauty Author:Anna Sewell Re-write Author:Ron Holt Pudlishing Company:Macmillan Education Ltd Year of Publishing:1987 Number of Pages:88 There are 12 chapters in this book, and I have read half of it. I think this book is very special, because the story is told by a horse. The book was called Black Beauty, because of the horse's name. He is a well-tempered and handsome horse. He was raised up by Grey when he was young. Grey was a good master and treated him well. Black Beauty's mother told him "Always be good so people will love you. " Then, he left his first home to work for Mr.Gordon. He also met new friends, Merrylegs and Ginger there. Ginger told him how her old master treated her. He reined her far tighter just to keep her head up and to make her look more fashionable. I thought that was cruel and human should treasure all the animals. The most impressive part in the pages I have read is Black Beauty saved his master's life. His master said "God made men so that they could find things out for themselves; but he made animals so that they could feel things, without thinking. In this way they have often saved men's lives." 1. The method I am already using is Listen actively. When I am in class, I always take notes.I can't remember everthing teachers said in class, so the method helps me to learn more effectively. 2. The book is about a young boy named Pip. He was raised up by his sister Mrs. Joe, and he never saw his parents. In the first chapter, he met a convict in the marshes. The introduction on the back of the book said that the escaped prisoner would change his life, but I have'nt read about this part. One day, Joe's uncle Mr. Pumblechook took him to Miss Havisham's house. She was a rich but strange lady, she wanted Pip to play with Estella. Although Estella is proud and insulting, Pip fell in love with her. A man named Mr. Jaggers went to his house and told him that someone was willing to pay for him to pursue his dream of becoming a gentleman. However, The benefactor did not reveal his name and ask Pip to make no enquiry about this secret. Despite that, Pip went on to London. This book is harder than "Charlie and the chocolate factory", and I spent more time reading it. I used to read books on my way to school, but I found that I am always sleepy in the morning and I can't concentrate on my reading fully. In the town Charlie lives,there is an enormous chocolate factory.It is Wonka's factory.No one knows who works for him and how Mr.Wonka makes his chocolates.One day,Mr.Wonka decides to open his factory for only five children.Lucky Charlie got the"Golden Ticket" to be allowed to visit Mr.Wonka's factory. His wonderful adverture begins. I always read the book on the bus ,and I read it about 30 minutes a day.
