| A. B. Of the six characters , my favorite is Joe . Because he is a funny guy and always brings a confident smile . Though he acts palyfully , he would help his friends when they need him . I love his expression most . On the other hand , Monica is the least . Because I think that among these leading actors , her characteristic is more blurred than anyother . C. After watching several episodes of friends , I found that I can identify what they said in the film more clearly . Because the caption on the screen disappeared quickly , I need to listen more carefully to what they said . Besides , I learned more native phrases and natural accent . In his marriage with Mercedes , Dantes was taken away by an officer and some soldiers by no reason .He was shocked and so does other guests .Dantes had many questions about the judge . He believed that he was innocent ,and everything would be okay when misunderstandings disappeared . While the situation went from bad to worst . He was sent to a cold prison , named Chateau d'If . He would better die than live in such a dark prison .
This time , I chose a famous book written by a famous author . I found that an imaginary novel is more attractive to me than an autobiography , which I read last time . Though there are more words that I haven't seen , I have little pressure in the reading , so I learned that interesting articles help me read efficiently .

Among these advisable methods , I think that I always use two of them . The first is ''Plan your days '' . In such a busy life , it is impossible to remember everything that happens in a day , let alone a long period of time without record , therefore , I will plan what I should finish on a weekly basis . In fact , there are many items that I didn't finish . I always try my best to make more appropriate plans . "Read for understanding" is another thing I think I am always using . In senior high school , we students were forced to read each article in a short time . We formed the habit of reading as fast as we can , but I consider it too rough . The author recommend that we follow the steps "skim" , "reflect" , "read" , and "review" . I will use those tips in my reading next time .
Besides , "Take charge of your mind" and "Refuse to tolerate confusion" are two recommendation interest me most . First , if I can take charge of my mind , I can concentrate more on many trifle thing , either in school work or daily life . This must begin with my self-descipline . Maybe I will practice paying attention for a short time in beginning , and then lengthen the time gradually . Next , I hope that I can refuse to tolerate confusion . We all know that knowledge is composed of learning and questioning , so learning to ask question is an indispensable part in our study . Next time when I encounter problems , I hope that I can muster up my courage to ask for help .
About "Study efficiently" , the author says that we should choose the right time to study , while everyday 's schedule is different , and there is no knowing when my best reading time is . Speaking of choose the right time , I seemed to read whenever I was free . Is there any suggestion about this problem ?

The Father and the Son
Author : Nick Tsou The last chapter "The Father and the son" describes the subtle change between the main character and his father . At first , the little boy didn't know why his father treated them as if they were his soldiers . As time went by , he gragually understood the misery of his father ,and learned the fact that a lonely man , who was betrayed by his wife , was eager of love than any other . After the son had married and believed in God , he has matured either in boy or his mind . He began to think in other's situation . All he should know in his age is treasure the precious things he owned at present , not live in the shadow of the past . Though this story is half imaginary and half true , the key meaning author wants to express to us is obvious - to cherish the moment when you can breathe . Thanks to the reading , I gained more understanding in my real life . After one month's reading , I finally finished the book . Next time , I want to choose another style of literature . Maybe a horrifying story or a science fiction . I hope that I can improve my English by continuous reading , and by the various styles of books .

| English Reading Journal 2 The Father and the Son Author : Nick Tsou This time , I read the next chapter of the book , called"The Son". The small boy who lived under a great pressure has matured , while he thought that reaching adolescence only made him hate his home and his parents all the more . However , almost everything changed for him since he fell in love with one girl . With an eye to pursuing her , he made a great effort to upgrade himself by improving his academic performances as well as his state of mind . In this chapter , I learned that how love could change a person . Though I can hardly experience the situation in person , I was deeply moved by author's patience and his strong willpower . As time goes by , I guess that the relationship between the father and the son will change subtlely in the next chapter . Recently , I haven't had so much time in the reading , so I try to read in segment time . In this case , I found it somewhat difficult to understand entire content . I read one-third of this book . This chapter is called " The Father '' , which depicts how stubborn the leading character's father was . As a veteran , he always looked upon his children as his soldiers.Speaking of his wife , a young lady who had once been raped , had no love for her family . Borned in such a miserable family , the birth of the leading character and his six siblings seemed to be another tragedy.
In fact , I didn't know what kinds of book I should read at first , and I changed my determination several time . Because of the fact that this book was written by my English teacher , and part of the story is his autobiography , which interests me and I finally determined to give it a try . Though I didn't finish reading it , I am deeply convinced that most of us are living a good life compared with the description of the story .
I haven't read an English novel for a long time , so I felt somewhat difficult in the reading . In my opinion , keeping reading on a regular basis is the best way for effective reading , rather than read a lot at one time( It's an experience I had earned in this lesson . ) . Besides , selecting a suitable style of literature may also be a indispensable element in effective reading . I believe that we can read one after another by doing so .
