It took me a lot of time to finish reading this novel. Although I forgot some plots, I still loved the gripping feeling which the novel gave me. I would also invite people who like epic and suspenseful read this book for once in your life.

From the story the reader can see how snobbish Lady Catherine was. The principles she used to judge a person were shallow as the background, the talent they have. This is because that she is self-contained and selfish.

The author of this book loves books so much that he had worked in the bookstore for 17 years.  Although he no longer working in bookstore, he still very fanatical in bookstores.  This book is about the author's memory of the bookstore.  I think this book was so special because it is the first book I have read that descript about bookstore. 

Reading this book, I could not only understand bookstore staff's works and book history but also strongly felt the author's enthusiasm for the books.  Amazing, this book also remind me that I am enjoy the comfortable feeling about sitting on the wood floor too.  Reading is not only attractive because of the content of the book but, the atmosphere is also very worthy of enjoyment.  

There are many bookstores in Taipei. Some have a comfortable sofa, the sweet-sounding music, bright light, friendly service, a large French window.  Some bookstore even 24-hour open. I feel very fortunate to live in the city where the resources of book are very sufficient.  The first sentence in whole book is that the author said "My first thing in a day is to go to bookstore and I always filled with a quiet excitement. This book really let me be more eager to go into the bookstore and read!

Vivienne Westwood even send her one that could bring a wedding tear from even the most unbelieving of woman, Samantha, and finally, disuaded Carrie from wearing the browse.   Then the marriage of this famous writer became more and more ceremonious. The number of guests added from 75 to 200! And this news was posted on page 6 (the entertaining page) in the newspaper eventually. However, unfortunately, all this was too much for Big since it was actually his third marriage and he cared about how anyone else would view him. It was a presure for him! Then they had a small squarrel over it but soon ended when Big said "I want you." as a response for Carrie's words "I dont know what you want."   Then one night, Carrie went to Big's bed with "Love Letters of Great Men", a book borrowed from the library which she used it for search about her new book. Used to write about finding love, she wanted to try what happened after finding it this time. She then leaned on Big and began to read. Here's one that touched her and also, me, which was writen by Beethoven.             My thoughts go out to you, my Immortal Beloved             I can live only wholly with you or not at all             Be calm my life, my all             Only by calm consideration of our existance can we achieve our purpose to live             together             Oh continue to love me, never misjudge the most faithful heart of your beloved             Ever thine             Ever mine             Ever ours   After this part, I'm firm with that love contains communication than ever. After three months, I finally finished reading this book. Here's what I got from it:

Each of us has no doubt had that one teacher that really meant a great deal to us, good or bad, for one reason or another.  Morrie Schwartz was the kind of guy who was less likely to ask you for a definition and more likely to ask you for a meaning.  He was less theory and more feeling.  His outlook on life was something recognized as special even before he developed a terminal disease. However, it wasn't until Morrie was diagnosed with Lou Gherig's disease that he achieved immortality.

This really is an amazing story of a teacher giving his final and greatest lesson of all.  Morrie stared death in the eye and refused to blink.  Rather than fear the inevitable he seized every day as though it were his last.  The result is a lesson that we all can take something from to make our own lives a bit more tolerable.  Morrie has lived one of those exemplary lives that everyone attempts to emulate but few succeed in doing so.

Aside from the importance of deeply-experienced relationships, forgiveness of others and self, and giving abundantly to others, Morrie suggests giving up of popular culture and materialism to create one's own culture based on ones meaningful values.

I believe that everyone should read this book.   Not only should just read it, but read it every few years to remind ourselves that life is not about the tangible "things".  I think we all get caught up in our everyday routine and forget to enjoy the simple things that life has to offer us.  Reading this book on occasion will snap us back to think in a very unselfish way and love what life has given us.

They all thought they were kidnapped to this island and began discussing how to escape from here. Noticing the door was unlocked, they left the room, and run out of the house.

   Because of wanting to know where they were, they climbed to the top of the hill. The scene was beautiful, and the wind is soft that no one could image the dangerous. And then the two ants appeared. They glared at children who were terrified. Surprising, the ants told them to eat breakfast instead of yelling at them. Art is the cook who can make delicious food. After finishing breakfast, aunt Etta told them a whole story why they need to find child to this island.

   It was a true story that involves an issue of environmental protection. The founders of this island were trying to protect creation from being hurt by environmental pollution. After they died, they need somebody to continue doing their work, so the aunts went out to find the proper children. When reading here, I think of "An Inconvenient Truth". Maybe author wants to tell us the important of protecting our earth. So, the aunts started to tell them what to do and how to do chores. Though it is a fiction, figures' character those authors created are same as real people. My thought to these aunts is change because they are doing the great work. (I think)

When she shows up at work the next morning, she is horrified to discover that the man is Jack Harper, American CEO of Panther Cola!  He knows everything, including that she hates her job and that she is not quite sure she loves her boyfriend, but Jack does not fire her on the spot.  Instead, he gives her advice about her personal life, which she finds infuriating... 

     I think this story is quite interesting and funny, which makes me doesn't want to put it down and what will happen next is unpredictable.  Emma is such an adorable girl.  She always do many silly things that makes me laugh.  Sorry to say that I haven't finish the book, so I still don't have enough feelings from this story.  Maybe next time when I finish it, I can realize what the story is really going to tell us about.

This year is special because Willy Wonka, the owner of the largest chocolate factory in the world, hid five golden tickets inside the chocolate bars. The five lucky children who find the tickets will be invited to be his guests at his factory for the day and receive enough chocolate to last a lifetime. With luck on his side, Charlie finds a golden ticket inside a bar of chocolate. The five lucky children encounter many adventures with Willy Wonka inside the chocolate factory. Willy Wonka has many tricks up his sleeve and a special surprise for the child that remains at the end of the day.
 
    I never really thought how cool it would be to enter a chocolate factory until I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I thought it was just a couple of rotten, metal, rusty machines and some work men wearing hair nets. But when I read this book it was like a whole new world inside this factory with a bunch of cheerful little working men with bright green hair. The machines are really fascinating, in the book they are giant water falls with chocolate streaming out of them into a little lake of chocolate surrounded by candy trees and whip-cream mushrooms and big candy balls. This factory brought me into a whole different world of candy making.
 
    Because i have read the chinese edition in my childhood, so i can finish the book as fast as i can.  I did not spend too much time on  the whole story but only concentrate on a few chapters in the book. I love to read stories of a imaginary world, and the fiction is really suitable for my taste.

Killing the Moby Dick was not an easy job. Captain Ahab and his crew had shipped for a very long time to find Moby Dick. If there was a ship passed by, Ahab would call the captain and try to get all the information about Moby Dick.
The first ship was Samuel Enderby. Its captain lost his right arm whiling he was trying to hunt Moby Dick. The second ship was Rachel. The captain lost his own son whiling they were trying to hunt Moby Dick. And, the third ship was Delight. The captain on it lost his five members whiling they were trying to hunt Moby Dick.
After hearing those terrible news, Captain Ahab still wanted to find Moby Dick and kill it in person. No matter how long it would be or how seriously the loss he might have. One of his crew, Starbuck, had begged to Captain Ahab to sail home for many times, but Ahab didn't change his mind.
Later, he and his crew met the Moby Dick. The first war against Moby Dick was intense. Many people injured badly, including Captain Ahab. But this failure didn't stop Ahab. He still insisted on the same goal – killing Moby Dick.
There were total three wars against Moby Dick. The last one was very miserable. All the people were dead, Captain Ahab was included. Only Ishmael was alive.
It would be very unlucky for me to be Captain Ahab's sailor, because I should hunt whales, get the valuable oil and go home with considerable wealth. Not running the risk of my life just to kill a dangerous whale like Moby Dick.
After I finished the novel, I wondered why the members on Pequod didn't cooperate together to oppose Captain Ahab for his craziness. If they did, everyone could have saved their lives.

Most of them are popular, such as The Ant and Grasshopper, Thumbelina and Ali Baba. There is an interesting one that I have never heard of-The Twelve Dancing Princesses.   Long ago, there lived a king who had twelve beautiful daughters. They lived in the same room with twelve beds in a row. Every morning, the king found them tired and all of their dancing slippers were worn to shreds. When he asked them to explain, they just said " We have been sleeping in our beds peacefully all night. " Therefore, the king issued a proclamation says that the first man to find out the mystery can marry one of his daughters. Many princes came to try their luck. However, they were all given a glass of wine by the eldest princess and fell asleep. No one figured out what happened.   One day, a soldier helped an old woman in the forest. In return, she told him the secret of the wine and gave him a cloak which will make him invisible. He listened to her. At night, he followed the princesses and found out the mystery. All the princesses went to dance acroos the lake. In the end, he married the eldest princess and they lived happily forever.   This book is very interesting. It reminds me of my childhood. I read the stories in Chinese when I was little and now I read them again in English. Although it is for children, there are still some words I don't konw. First story：Robot Revolution                It is the future.  Robots are created to serve people.  People no longer have to cook or do things by themselves.  But something happened：Robots began to have their own thoughts and they want to take control over human and the city they live.  Antia, a college graduates who majored in domestic architecture, is given orders to stay in a building where there were furniture and rooms displayed of the past.  There are sufficient food and drinks in it.  Major Kostin, a young army officer who gave orders to the girl, is trying to do something to protect human and fight against the army robots that wants people to leave the city and dominate it.  People are forced to leave to a barren place.  However, there is a discard silos used to store food and inside it is a tunnel leads to the building.  Human at last use electro magnets to demolish those robots and get back to the 20th centuries life---without robots help.                 I don't like this story because it is so unrealistic. There are many things that the author didn't explain in details.  For example, why the robots evolved?  Why did the officer sent Antia in the building only?  Why the people get hungry so fast?  So many things seemed nonsense.  But I still learned more vocabularies and uses of phrase. Second story：Left Behind                 There are two groups of people live on the planet called Hydra.  One group called ''The Elites'' (much like aliens) are going to leave the planet because there's a horrible disease that killed many of them.  Strangely, the disease only killed the Elites but not the Outsiders－the other group live on the planet.  The Elites did not have feelings and they obey command without any doubt.  A mother called Janiz was one of them.  She had to kill her ten months son because the space ship which is going to take them to another planet doesn't have enough rooms for all of them. She cannot do it because she loved him.  She hides it in a cave and hope that the Outsiders take care of him.  A girl who was one of the Outsiders found it and looked after him with an old man's help.  In the end, the Elites still come back to the original planet because they can't find any planet to live on.  The baby grows up and become the leader of the whole people.                 There are still some points that I can't figure out.  Why did the mother have feelings? Why didn't she obey the command?  Instead of finding the answers, I'll just accept it because it's a science fiction!  Anything may happen.                   This time, I only spent two hours to finish the whole book!  I read books in details so I usually take a long time reading a novel.  I found myself more efficient this time. 49777071 [JeT] 朱育瑩

But when he grew up and became a king, he didn't achieve what he has promised. He was cruel to the peasants. Bowen thought it was because the king had half of the dragon's heart. Then he tried to find the dragon and kill it. When he found the dragon, he realized that it wasn't the dragon's heart that made the king cruel. The king was cruel because he had a cruel father. And he and the dragon became good friends. They gathered the peasants together to kill the king. But because the king had half of the dragon's heart, he won't die if the dragon was live. Then the dragon sacrificed himself to let the king die at the end of the story. I like this book very much. Among all the charactors, I like Bowen the best. He stuck to the Old Code even though no one lived by it. He was loyal to the king and tried to make Einon a good king. Although he failed to do this, he still tried to make this country better. He believed that he was innocent ,and everything would be okay when misunderstandings disappeared . While the situation went from bad to worst . He was sent to a cold prison , named Chateau d'If . He would better die than live in such a dark prison .

This time , I chose a famous book written by a famous author . I found that an imaginary novel is more attractive to me than an autobiography , which I read last time . Though there are more words that I haven't seen , I have little pressure in the reading , so I learned that interesting articles help me read efficiently .

Things left behind by Dumbledore played an imporatant roles.First,a mysterious person gave the sword of Godric Gryffindor secretly,and it helped Harry and Ron detroy the blasket.Second, the Deluminator helped Ron came back, and his appearance gave Harry and Hermonie a lot of help.Last but not the least,Hermonie found a special sign made by Dumbledore in The Tales of the Beedle the Bard,which indicate that the Deathly Hollow maybe existed.

Hermonie was a person who only believe the fact.It is hard for him to believe the legend.However,even if people couldn't find out evidences to prove the legend, we can't jump into the conculution that it was not exist.Just like the golbe warning,when it first being mentioned, no one looked upon it as a serious problem.However, after more and more evdiences were found out,ordinary people and the government then accepted it as the most important enviromental protecrion issue.Nevertheless,many injures have already done.If we can accept it earlier, perhaps the earth won't have to face the serious problem now.

They walked about 500 miles and many of them die on the march. During the march, they met the Australian lorry driver, Joe Harman. He was captured by Japanese, too. He stole foods and medicine to help them but being caught and punished severely. Later, the women are marched away and believe that he is dead. After the war, when Jane went back to Malaya years later. She discovered that Joe survived his punish, so she went to Australia to find him. In the meantime, Joe has learned that Jean survived the war and is unmarried and flew to Britain in order to search for her. Finally, they met in Australia and got marry. Jane's dream of turning Willstown into a town like Alice came true and they led a happy life ever after. "Finally jack calmed down and let the discussion keep going .In the end, they decided to send Ralph,Jack and Simon to find the beast.
I learn so many things in this books. The more I read it the more I learn.For instance,there are so many interesting sentences like" then as though they had but one terrified mind between them they scrambled away over the rocks and fled " .This sentence vividly depicts how terrified they are ,as if you can imagine a scenario from this sentence .

Richard took a message to de' Carabas, who owed Door a favor, for Door. After they left Richard's apartment everything seemed to become normal again. Then Richard called Jessica for apologizing, but he soon figured that his phone call was cut off and he was totally late to work. (I rewrite the conversation by memory) Till now, Richard thought it was a joke, and maybe it was Jessica's idea, but he soon found out it wasn't like that. He had been forgotten, unnoticed, and rejected by the world, his world. And he would soon find that his apartment had been sold by a young couple at the time after he came back there.

It's looked like Richard had never existed at the very first time in the world, he's "Neverwhere" now.

Frank and Mirjam Pressler) Illustrator: No Publishing Company: Pearson Education Limited Year of Publishing: 1999 (New Edition) Word Level: Intermediate (1700 words) Number of Pages: 57 I have spotted Julia's journal after reading the book, and it touched off my wonderful memory while reading it. Therefore, I decided to reread the book I first fell in love with when I was little. In 1942, Holland was invaded by Germans, and they then massacred Jews. All Jewish people were frightened because they might be caught or killed and struggled to avoid genocide. Thus, Frank family decided to hide. With the help of their friends, they hid in a garret and started a life full of danger, inconvenience, and love. Though life was hazardous, they hoped for the best. Unfortunately, they were discovered and captured. In the end, only Anne Frank's dad came back alive, and presented the diary Anne kept to the world. It is my sixth time to read the book (four times in Chinese, two in English). It was recommended by my dear aunt and only after a quick browse, I then felt it matched me. Though hiding in a garret was a poor circumstance to Anne, however, it's wonderful to me. Living in a secret place without schoolwork, complicated relationship with other people and all those hustle and bustle is really appealing. I love to sink into my own dream and be alone sometimes, so I think staying in that cramped room isn't totally bad. What makes me frightened is the massacre implemented by Germans, who were really inhumane. It was unfair to kill Jews because they were good at merchandising or just wanted ethnic cleansing. And the question I have about the book is who turned informer on them. As I read the book for so many times, it's no doubt I read it efficiently and very quickly, due to my fondness and passion for it. I have shared my insights and reflections to the book with my friends for so many times, and if I have some new ideas to tell, I'll bring it to them. My next book has been chosen, and I have read one third of it in short time. I expect it to be worth-reading.

This novel has been adapted to a movie, with Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio who is the leading role. It was written by the great writer Alexandre Dumas who had written many famous novels.

The story was about Louis XIV, the king of France, who had an identical brother. Because they were twins, a possibility that a fight for the crown will occur when they grew up. Therefore, to avoid the civil war, the queen decided to send the other son, Philippe, away and tried her best to hide the boy's true identity. The boy was kind and smart and was unlike his twin brother, who was totally a tyrant. Then a musketeer named Aramis tried to let the good one to be the king. Although Aramis tried to make the plan work perfectly, he failed at last. In the end, Philippe accepted his fate and promise to wear the iron mask for the rest of his life and King Louis was a changed man from that event. He took full control of the kingdom and brought France to greater glory than it had ever known. To this day, people speak of him as "Sun King."

To celebrate the kingdom's glory, he built the fabulous palace of Versailles, grander ever than Fouquet's chateau at Vaux. It is still considered the finest palace in the world.

This novel is easy to read and because it is still a mystery, I think it will still be famous for a long time until the truth is found. I haven't seen the movie yet but I think it will probably be a good one to see. I will borrow it from the store during the winter vacation.
