Step into Christmas

Welcome to my Christmas song
I'd like to thank you for the year
So I'm sending you this Christmas card
To say it's nice to have you here
I'd like to sing about all the things
Your eyes and mind can see
So hop aboard the turntable
Oh step into Christmas with me

Step into Christmas
Let's join together
We can watch the snow fall forever and ever
Eat, drink and be merry
Come along with me
Step into Christmas
The admission's free

Take care in all you do next year
And keep smiling through the days
If we can help to entertain you
Oh we will find the ways
So merry Christmas one and all
There's no place I'd rather be
Than asking you if you'd oblige
Stepping into Christmas with me

                                 *Repeat

Introduction:

"Step into Christmas" is a Christmas song by Elton John (Music by Elton John, Lyrics by Bernie Taupin) released in 1973. Just as it titled, it was designed to greet a happy Christmas. Though it was originally released as a stand-alone single in 1973 with the B-Side "Ho! Ho! Ho! (Who'd Be a Turkey at Christmas)", peaking at number 23 in the UK. Due to Billboard magazine editorial policy, it was held off the Hot 100. It did, however, make number 1 on a specially designated Christmas chart, and it appeared in the Cashbox Top 100 charts. It was later included as a bonus track on the 1995 remastered reissue of the album Caribou, even though it was released in the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road days. It also appears on the albums Elton John's Christmas Party, Rare Masters, To Be Continued, and The Best Christmas Album In The World...Ever!.
