It was a rare occasion that brought all types of New York women together. It was an auction which is held by Blair Elkenn, a billionaire's ex-girlfriend who used to be an actress, a model, and a waitress originally, and who came home one night to find herself unceremoniously turned out on the street. As a result, she was getting the ultimate breakup revenge, an embarrassing and very public auction of all the jewelry he had given her when they were happy.Of course the four were there for a flower ring which caught Samantha's eye at once when she first saw it in the catalog. And she described it as one of a kind and filled with fire, just like herself. However, she lost it in the end because there were still someone bidding for somebody else on the phone. After the auction, the four met a woman who introduced herself as Blair's friend. She said that it was such a pity that they broke up finally even though they used to be very happy. Meanwhile, the same idea emerged on both Carrie's and Miranda's mind: whether or not should Carrie sell her apartment.
Carrie soon made a decision at the dinner table in Big's place. she told him that she had made up her mind to sell it out because she wanted to make them a life in their new place. And reasonably, after talking about living together, they touched the part of marriage. Since both of them wouldn't mind marrying each other, the then "decided" to get married. Then the next morning, she told Samantha the "big news with Big." For a woman who didn't believe in marriage, she gave an indifferent response. But few minutes later, Samantha called back. She explained that she was too surprise to say anything. They then share tje happiness about it.
There was no cliched romantic kneeling on one knee. It was just two grownups making a decision about spending their lives together. It was rational, but special at the same time. And I think it was the specialty that made the whole thing a little bit more romantic. It's mature and wise of the two grownups to do so. However, I think the interlude of the auction part seems to mean something. Maybe something's gonna happened, ( just like novels, TV or movies does usually) I hope there's gonna be a happy ending.
