About Language Learning & Acquisition

There is a problem that bother me for a long time.The problem is I always read the Advenced very slowly.Not because I can't understand what the content means,but I always spend much time listening to the MP3 with the view to promote my pronounciation.However,I think I don't make progress at all!
Another question is I can't remember vocabularies fast.Could you please teach me some tips?
