language learning and acquisition

  • 1.For further listening and speaking, I come up with a new method, but I'm not sure if it's ok. When watching movies, is it beneficial to set the subtitles in Chinese at the first time, then change it into English the second time, and no subtitles in the end?
  • 2.Is it helpful to keep in touch with at least one native English speaker for the authentic accent and the use of English? If so, where can I get this resourses?

1. If you have soo much time that you can watch a DVD three times or more, what you suggested may be OK. Honestly, I think English subtitle may help your English more directly.

2. Have you heard of "English Corner" on our campus? Check it out. You may not have to go very far to find some friendly and competent native speakers to practice your English speaking ability.
