Presentaion 2 : After “An Inconvenient Truth”, planned for Dec. 12

A. Purposes of this presentation

1. Groups learn to work together effectively (see “Principles for Effective Group Presentation”).

2. Based on a good comprehension of Al Gore’s message on global warming, students explore deeply into the issue and share important aspects related.

3. Students try their hands on research, organization and presentation.

4. Some possible ideas for this presentation:

* How’s the situation now? What has been changed since the documentary was produced?

* Where does Taiwan stand on this—Our energy use? Energy policy? Public attitude?

* What can ordinary people like us do?

* ….

5. Here are two books for your reference:

-- Hot, Flat and Crowded: Why the World Needs a Green Revolution—And How we Can Renew Our Global Future, By Thomas L. Friedman, (2008, Chinese edition by 天下文化) 中譯:世界又熱、又平、又擠.

-- Blessed Unrest: How the Largest Movement in the World Came into Being and Why No One Saw It Coming, By Paul Hawken, (2007), 中譯: 看不見的力量: 世界最大的運動正在發生,為什麼没人看見? (2008) 黃維明譯,野人文化出版。

B. Technicalities:

1. In addition to the designated group time in certain class days, each group should find time to work together.

2. Length of presentation: 5 minutes.

3. Every member must speak.

4. Visual Aids are required.

5. Class members will take notes during the presentation and synthesize some most important points.
